July 25 Aberdovey Golf Course

Up at 6:30 and downstairs.  Everyone was up by 7:30. I bought some sausages at the local shop and cooked some up for Steve and I. Delicious. I got the Nespresso machine going so had one of those. Roger did the dishes (Refer previous night note about scat.)
In the car and on the way to Aberdovey by 9am. Nice drive down, took about an hour. Navigation system took us on one short road that was like a bicycle path; hardly enough room to pass the man with his dog. We avoided that on the way home.
Arrived at the golf course about 10:30 after a short stop at a Nature Centre. Confirmed our tee time and cart arrangements. Roger and I used the Moto Caddy and Steve and Dave shared a buggy.
Steve stayed at the course while Roger,David and I walked into the town of Aberdovey - 10 minutes at the most. It was a quaint seaside town with a big beach, sailing lessons and swimming. We stopped for lunch at a fish shop I had fish cakes (thai) and a salad and fries. Roger and David had fish and chips.
We walked back to the course, found Steve and got off early at 2:20 rather than 3:00. They didn't even charge us the difference of playing before 3 of 25£. Our cost was 65£.
What a beautiful setting,  a true links course. Out for 9 and back the opposite way right beside the ocean.  It was a narrow track with holes running close to each other in opposite directions. You couldn't see the ocean from the course due to the massive dunes that were present on the ocean side, except from the green on #12.
The first 9 holes were straight into the wind which made it challenging.  My driver was errant most of the day and in hindsight should have stayed in the bag. We played the yellow tees which were 6100 yards.
David got another birdie and for this one we had a small toast.
We finished up at 6:40 and since the restaurant at the club was closed we decided to head straight home. Dave bought me a glass of Glayva and the Bartender gave him a lovely little glass to transport it in covered with a wrapping. He said it was the only glass he had ever given away and that I could remember them whenever I had a drink. I will.
Home at 8:20. Roger and I went to the Ty Mawr . We had steak and ale pie (Roger really likes this) and a beer. The Bartender started pouring me a Guiness before I even ordered one. Probably time to leave town.
Back home and basically everyone went to bed by 10 after watching a bit of A Fist Full of Dollars with Clint Eastwood.
